this project started as a concept for the pages of an adult coloring book, and i used this as a jumping off point to explore the concept of staring.

be it at a page or at everything surrounding us, we all ogle, and it can be taken either positively or negatively. some things, like an animal on the street, are glanced at out of appreciation or concern. but i feel the stare much more as a trans person. when eyes shoot like bullets as passersby look on, it can either translate as disgust or fetishization. when this paranoia manifests, everyone and everything can feel like a monster. there are eyes everywhere, and they are out to get us.
